Live Free or Die? Except if you homeschool your children…

August 28, 2009

There is a lot to appreciate about the state of New Hampshire. However, from what I’ve read, NH scores terribly on homeschooling rights. Ironically, the state of NJ is one of the best states for homeschoolers. My wife and I wonder if it is just because they don’t have the time to analyze every homeschooler because they have their hands full with all of the students who are public schooled.

Anyway, WND has an article about a girl in New Hampshire who is being forced into government education because…

Her parents are abusive? No.
She is not meeting the educational standards? No, she is outshining her public schooled counterparts.

She is being forced into government education because…she is defensive of her Christian beliefs.

So, this judge, a Miss Lucinda Sadler, thinks it is her job to decide the religious upbringing of this poor child. This judge, made a poor judgement, and ignored the Constitution and especially the part where it says we have freedom of religion.

It is not up to the government to decide how my child will worship. My children will be taught that Jesus is God and King, Lord and Savior. They will know that all other religions are lies that come from the very devil himself!

Seriously, we have considered moving to NH because of their attitude towards free enterprise, taxes, and almost everything else. Except, their homeschool record is terrible.

Where are all the war protests?

August 14, 2009

Before the “messiah” became president, we had war protests quite frequently. At one point, they were making national headlines and it seemed we couldn’t walk around town without bumping into some protester who despised the evils of our country.

Now everyone is so quiet. Yet, daily I notice more men are dying in Afghanistan and Iraq. Is it me, or does it seem like the liberals are compromising their belief in pacifism now that Obama has clearly shown no intentions of slowing down the unconstitutional “War on Colonialism…er Terror”.

If there are protests, the media could care less. The media believes it is their job to make Obama a success.

I think what we really have is that the war protesters weren’t really opposed to war. If so, they’d be storming the gates of the White House with their home made signs, grammatical errors and all! Instead, they are so excited about getting a fellow Stalinist in office, they forgot that they were supposed to oppose the war even after the parties switched.

Again, I believe they were more about socialism and the welfare state than they were about ending this God forsaken war! Ironically, or maybe not so ironic, the only people who have opposed this war, and still do, are the libertarians, who from the beginning stated their reasons for opposing this war and many others like it.

So, if you, as a dread locked war protester, who grew up on the mean streets of upper-class suburbia, feel alone in your bold attempt at ending American Colonialism, there is hope. While libertarians like myself oppose this war for different reasons than yourself, we do have solid points as to why you ought to consider embracing classical liberalism. And just think, you’ll be able to run circles around your liberal friends when debating economics, and the Constitution!

CNN – Dishonesty on the front page

August 11, 2009

Here’s what I spotted on CNN’s website, front page article:

“A hostile crowd shouted questions and made angry statements today at a Pennsylvania town hall meeting on health care led by Democratic Sen. Arlen Specter. The meeting drew an overflow crowd of about 250 people, with more gathered outside to demonstrate for and against President Obama’s push to expand health insurance for 46 million people without coverage while bringing down costs”

Now, the wording used gives a sense of extreme hostility and danger. You better avoid these people, they are irrationally mad. The ending contrasts that statement when it makes the protesters look like they are upset that Obama wants to lower the cost of healthcare.

Talk about propaganda! Now I’m all for lowering the costs, but unless we live on Mars, and not Earth, there is no way that expanding government healthcare to include everyone who is involuntarily or voluntarily uncovered will lower the cost of healthcare. Just no way! Think about it. If a government can’t even manage the Cash for Clunkers, (which has cost us tax payers billions), how can it manage an extremely complicated system like health care?

Will it be more efficient? No. It won’t. We’ll now have to get used to long lines for simple treatment, and perhaps even denial.

Is the current healthcare system perfect? Not at all. Not even close. We have a system that, encouraged by the government, became costly, inefficient, and broken. It still works better than universal health care.

Will it wipe out private healthcare? Yes. The inevitability is that no company will be able to afford paying for the people (who are not employed by them) who use the government system, and continue to pay for the rising cost of the private healthcare. Certainly no individual will be able to afford it when his income tax rises drastically.

It will raise taxes. It will have to. Eventually the machine will expect a payout, and the government will place that demand on the backs of the individual. The same individual who struggles to pay his mortgage, provide for his family, and works hard to make a living. His quality of life, guaranteed, will diminish at an alarming rate. That is a fact.

The mainstream media, no surprise, wants to see Obama get his agendas through even at the cost of compromising journalistic ethics. While Obama pushes for this stupid and irresponsible plan, his approval ratings plummet. Perhaps he needs to pay attention, because he is causing this debate. People are yelling at town halls not because they are in line with private insurance companies, but because they are sick and tired of a government that does not represent the interests of the people.

It is about time that Americans are waking up, getting off their couches and mobilizing.

Obama: You ain’t seen nothing yet.
